מנגל
Ultimately from Arabic مِنْقَل (minqal, “brazier”), an instrument noun derived from نَقَلَ (naqala, “to move, transport”), and hence originally denoting a movable or portable stove. Either via a Bedouin Arabic dialect in which /q/ is realized as /ɡ/ (compare Hijazi Arabic مِنْقَل (mingal, “brazier”)), or via Ottoman Turkish مانغال (mangal) (modern Turkish mangal (“brazier, barbecue”)).
