Feng shui is 'wind and water', the Chinese art of placing graves and houses; the term is traced to a 4th-century burial classic, was read pungsu in Korea, fūsui in Japan and phong thủy in Vietnam, and English's 1990s fad for arranging rooms carried it on to German, French, Russian and Hebrew.
