coach
The village of Kocs, on the road between Vienna and Buda, built a light, sprung wagon, the kocsi szekér; Europe named the vehicle after it — Spanish coche is still a car — and Oxford slang later made a coach the tutor who 'carries' a student through exams, a sense that went on to sport in Japan and Korea.
