bibimbap

Bibim 'mixing' + bap 'rice'. Older texts wrote it in Chinese characters (hondon-ban, goldong-ban); the native name appears in hangul in the late 19th-century cookbook Siuijeonseo as bubuimbap. Japan borrowed it as bibinba, and Chinese translates it as 'mixed rice'.
